Crusader Rabbit

The star of the first cartoon series made for TV just passed away.  Lucille Bliss provided the voice for the titular Crusader Rabbit, which first aired in Los Angeles in 1950.  I like this phenomenon of voice-acting-drag, especially in the early ’50s!  I wonder if that felt exciting or liberating for women back then, or even now…

Here’s the 2nd episode if you’re hooked.  Bliss would go on to provide the voice of Smurfette in the 1980s, so quite a long career!
